What’s required…

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has gained strong operational experience as an Assistant/Deputy Manager within a residential or hospitality environment and is looking for the chance to lead their own site, influence resident experience, and develop their management career.

What we're looking for

You may already be working as an Assistant Manager within BTR, student accommodation, residential, hotels, co-living, serviced offices, leisure, or a similar customer-focused environment.

You'll have experience in:

  • Leading and developing teams

  • Managing operational budgets and reporting

  • Delivering exceptional customer service

  • Building strong relationships with residents, customers, and stakeholders

  • Coordinating day-to-day building operations

Most importantly, you'll be a proactive leader who enjoys creating great experiences, driving performance, and taking ownership.

The Opportunity

As General Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the site, leading a small onsite team and ensuring residents receive an outstanding experience throughout their tenancy.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll be involved in everything from sales and marketing through to facilities management, resident engagement, team leadership, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and develop the onsite team, including performance management and reviews

  • Oversee the full tenancy life-cycle, including viewings, check-ins, check-outs, inspections, tenancy administration, rent collection, and arrears management

  • Create a vibrant resident community through engagement initiatives and events

  • Manage site budgets, financial reporting, and operational performance

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and local universities

  • Ensure consistently high standards of customer service across the site

  • Coordinate maintenance requests, contractor management, and planned works

  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations

  • Drive occupancy, retention, and revenue through effective sales and marketing activity

  • Organise and deliver engaging resident events and community initiatives

About You

You'll be:

  • A natural people person with a genuine passion for customer service

  • An aspiring or existing leader who enjoys developing teams

  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities

  • Commercially aware with experience managing budgets or financial performance

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and taking ownership of results
